Housing Scholarship
The intent of the SVA Alumni Society Housing Scholarship is to provide on-campus housing for students who would otherwise commute from home.
The Housing Scholarship covers the cost of on-campus housing for the duration of study at SVA (not to exceed four years). One recipient is selected from each incoming class. The scholarship does not cover the cost of meals, and all applicants must be able to cover the costs of food and other out-of-pocket living expenses. The scholarship may not be deferred. The scholarship does not cover summer housing. The scholarship is not available to second-, third-, or fourth-year SVA students, or transfer students.
Eligible Housing Scholarship applicants are pre-selected from applicants already accepted to SVA for the fall semester, based on the following criteria:
Incoming freshman (non-transfer) student
Must submit enrollment fee to SVA by May 1
Home address is within a 25-mile radius of 209 E. 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010 (as determined solely by the Alumni Society)
Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (as on file with SVA Admissions)
Demonstrated financial need
